I formed Tops Marquees over 20 years ago and since then we have seen solid growth as our client base has expanded and we've been recommend to their friends and colleagues.  Repeat business is really important to us so we remain focused on client satisfaction from initial quote, right through to the moment the last of our trucks roll off-site.

Just one way we achieve this very high percentage of repeat and referral work is that unlike many of our competitors, we operate with a larger than usual number of permanent employees. Many marquee companies rely on a roster of casual workers, whereas we believe that only permanent employees deliver the level of service and demonstrate the level of commitment to our clients that we demand.  As a direct result of this working practice we receive a higher number of winter bookings than some of our competitors, ensuring “the guys” are kept busy right through until spring.

In 2010 we invested in a marquee cleaning machine.  To our knowledge we are the only marquee hire company, certainly locally, which also cleans marquees, as such it is pretty safe to assume that we have the cleanest marquees in the area.  In fact we clean the marquees of a number of our competitors every year or so, whereas our stock is cleaned on a more regular basis, as and when it is required.

So whether you are organising an intimate dinner party for 20-30 guests, a wedding for 200+, or a corporate function catering for 500+, our consistent and reliable team are on hand to help and support you every step of the way.  No job is ever too small, but at the same time our motto is “the bigger, the better.”

Leaving school at 17, Steve started working as a party DJ and by the time he was 21 was running a business with 14 Mobile Discos. He moved into premises in Maidenhead and started to provide marquee and party equipment hire. Through periods of organic growth and acquisitions, Steve is proud to have grown the business into one of the largest and most reputable marquee hire companies in the South Of England.

Debbie was born and raised in Liverpool. After studying to be a teacher at Leeds Uni, she moved to Maidenhead and taught at Altwood School for a number of years. She met Steve and they started a family and as the kids grew older she started to help out with the business, quickly becoming an integral team member.
